The Events Assistant must be a highly motivated individual who is eager and ready to accept additional responsibilities when needed. This position is responsible for providing both administrative and event operation support to a team of Events Managers. The ideal candidate has a friendly demeanor, the ability to learn new computer programs, can multitask and complete projects in a timely manner. This person should demonstrate exceptional customer service and problem solving skills. The Event Assistant is often the liaison between the hotel and the meeting planner.
Tasks of the Event Assistant include inputting meeting room specification and guest room reservations, answering phones and handling inquiries, tracking boxes and shipments, delivering meeting planner supplies, and anticipating potential opportunities before they occur.

Qualifications:
A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
Engaged team player, focused on individual as well as team goals and results
Must be proficient in general computer knowledge including Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Power Point
Must possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to provide quick responses
Driven to provide a meaningful meeting experience that exceeds the expectations of the meeting planners and guests
Previous hotel or event experience preferred
Working towards or completed degree from an accredited university is preferred
Ability to lift, pull, and push a moderate weight
Able to walk and stand throughout the duration of shift
Flexibility of schedule- including morning, afternoon, evening, weekends and holidays
Candidates should possess a desire to grow and promote in the hospitality industry
